Cigar Places Around America

We all love the Tinderbox, but once we get out of Charlotte, it sometimes is a challenge to find a good Cigar Lounge. This is the place to share your experiences on some places you have encountered.

If you make to Pittsburgh, PA be sure to put Allegheny Smokeworks on your list. It is the best place to grab a stogie, have a smoke, and spend time with fellow aficionados.

In Asheville NC

Bruce's Pipe: One of the few places you can smoke in a lounge. It is located on Merriman Ave. Not a huge humidor but still some good sticks, but at least you can smoke there. They have a porch where you can smoke outside during the warmer weather too.

In Pittsburgh

Cioppino: Great place to grab a good dinner and smoke a stick. Not a huge selection, but the atmosphere is terrific.

In Chicago, I have two:

1-Iwan Ries: Located on S. Wabash Street. This is not a free lounge, but a great place to hang downtown. There aren't a lot of cigar friendly places, so this is worth the $10 guest pass. They have Wi-Fi and televisions.

2-Cigar King - "Sister Store" to the place in Arizona. This is located in Skokie, IL about 20 minutes from the loop. One of the best humidors I've seen anywhere. Plenty of leather chairs and TVs. Price - FREE!

In Arizona, I have two:

1-Churchill's Cigars: Recommended by Craig. Six locations throughout Arizona.

2-Cigar King: Located in Scottsdale. This is in the "Airport Park" area of Scottsdale and off the beaten path. Terrific place to enjoy a smoke - complete with leather chairs and televisions. Great humidor. Great people. Reminds me of a Tinder Box place with the crowd....

I was in Grand Rapids, MI last week and had dinner at Chop House (which I strongly recommend for steak) located 190 Monroe Ave NW next door to the Amway Plaza. After having one of the best cowboy ribeyes I've had in awhile I went downstairs to La Dolce Vita which is their desert and cigar bar. Very nice atmosphere with brick interior and fireplace, plazma screens and comfortable leather chairs. They had a nice selection of cigars as they had Opus X Robustos($50 was a little steep) which can be hard to find, I ended up selecting Olivia O Torpedo ($14). They also had a full bar. I've been going to Grand Rapids for decades for business and usually stay at Amway, can't believe that I didn't know of this great cigar bar just next door.
